OVERVIEW

I have over 30 years of experience as a senior executive holding positions at the President, Vice President and Company Director levels, focused primarily on international business development in the Middle East, Europe, Pacific Rim and the Americas in the meteorological, environmental, data acquisition and communications spheres.
Specific skills include: business development, marketing, negotiation, international contracts and financial instruments, proposal preparation, costing, quality systems (ISO9001:2000), system design, computer systems, engineering, integration and profitable project implementation for projects totaling over $100 million.
Professional qualifications include an honours degree in Electrical Engineering, registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts, in the UK and in the European Union and fellowships in the Institute of Engineering and Technology (formerly the Institution of Electrical Engineers), and, until retirement, in the the Institute of Directors and the Institute of Management.
Technical capabilities encompass: extensive computer knowledge with detailed experience of real-time systems; broad knowledge of terrestrial and satellite communications systems; C-language implementation of an embedded controller for a turbine powered research vehicle; programming of a message switching system; engineering and software implementation of a low level wind-shear alert system to FAA specifications; design of advanced TCP/IP networks and fault-tolerant database systems; systems skills on various UNIX and Linux platforms; implementation of heterogeneous networks with UNIX, Windows 95/98/NT and Macintosh operating systems; and wide knowledge of applications software and groupware.
EXPERIENCE
1994 to 2004 Vice President of Engineering, AER, Inc.
Responsible for business development, systems design and project implementation. Managed the hardware design and installation of the meteorological processing system being installed at Chek Lap Kok airport in Hong Kong, the KLIA project in Malaysia,.the government meteorological forecasting complex in Caracas, Venezuela and the Nowcasting System for the Athens Olympics. Also managed the computer centre, with a $1 million annual budget, which provided computer services to the company including advanced compute servers for scientific research and modeling, Linux clusters, advanced automatic tape backup systems, RAID clusters, high-availability servers, T1 and fibre internet access with BGP routing and Microsoft, Apple and Linux desktops and laptops.

Responsible for the management and business development of the company. Included position as General Manager of Technology Systems Inc. with responsibility for the management, business development and technical direction of a computer software company. Managed and implemented real time, computer controlled meteorological and environmental projects for overseas clients.
1979 - 1987 Director of Engineering, Amartech Ltd., Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Responsible to the President for the business development and technical direction of the company, which employed over 100 technical and administrative personnel. Business activities included a wide range of high technology projects including satellite and radio communications, advanced computer systems, environmental consulting and airport electronics. Projects tendered, negotiated and implemented were valued at over $100 million.
